Happy Memorial Day America!

This photo is of Pearl Harbor survivor Houston James of Dallas, Tx. and Marine Staff Sgt. Mark Graunke Jr. when they met during a Veterans Day event in Dallas a few years back. I was always struck by Staff Sgt. Graunkes countenance in this picture, as if he was slightly embarrassed to receive such gratitude from a WWII veteran. I hope every veteran out there has somebody run up to them and "embarrass" them a little, with a hug or a kiss and a "Thank you very much". My thanks to all who serve or have served this great country of ours. Thank you for your sacrifices, for protecting our freedoms, and for representing all of us so gracefully. I hope you feel a great swell of pride today, and every day, for we all owe our servicemen and women a great deal of gratitude. For those who'd to be more proactive, click here to write or donate.

This outta just about settle any arguments!

Lately, there have been many discussions about "illegals" in this great country of ours. Basically, I feel we should welcome everyone, tolerate each others differences, and all try to remember not to take everything so damn seriously. What has made OUR country great, has been the embrace of freedom to citizens and visitors alike. Let us never forget that.
